Recently, I was reading about how is NOT too late to Dream BIG in the Bible.
Joseph was an example of how NOT to give up on your God-given dreams (Genesis 37). He had every right to give up on God and His dreams. He had every right to be angry at the world because of all the traumatic circumstances he faced throughout his lifetime. He was a victim of human trafficking by his own brothers, falsely imprisoned for rape because he didn’t want to be someone’s side piece, and forgotten by those who said will help him out. However, he chose the more challenging, but rewarding route.
He chose to "go high" when others tried to make him "go low."
He... • Continuously operated in the highest level of excellence in spite of being set up for failure. • Chose to operate at the highest level of integrity. Especially, when no one else was watching. • Allowed God to work on His character in spite of having every opportunity to stay "in his feelings" and nurture bitterness, hatred, and unforgiveness (Psalm 105:8).
How in the world did he not give up on hope?! The Holy Spirit said, “His obeDIEnce.” He died to his will and COMPLETELY trusted in God's will.
Until the time came to fulfill his dreams,
the Lord tested Joseph’s character.
Psalm 105: 19 NLT
• Trusted the process
• Allowed God to work on his character and prepare him for the appointed time.
Yo, don’t get it twisted and think our brother didn't have moments where he questioned or doubted the dream, but I believe he was REAL with God. He opted to seek God instead of giving up, which strengthened his faith.
In spite of all that he endured, he kept his eyes on the prize, his God-given dream. Regardless of what we are seeing in this season of our lives, let's find enCOURAGEment in the life of Joseph.
Let's continue to press our way by continuing to: - Being raw and real with God. Talking to Him about the good, bad, and even ugly. Trust me He can take it! On the real... He's been waiting for you to come to Him and stop picking up the phone and telling whoever will lend an ear about the circumstances you are facing. He is THE SOURCE of your solution.
- Dare to think and pray BIG again. - Activate our mustard seed(s) of faith and apply the necessary action steps to witness the manifestations of our crazy faith.
- Google how long it takes for a pure diamond to be formed? Oyster to produce a pearl? Ruby to be formed? If God took His time in creating these valuable gemstones, what makes you think He's going to rush your process? You are far more valuable to Him. Trust the process. NEVER give up on our God-given dreams. Trust that God is working ALL things for your good because you love Him and have been called for His purpose. - If it’s His will, it’s His Bill! He is NOT the resource, BUT THE SOURCE. When we believe in our God-given dreams, it activates Heaven's currency--FAITH! He will sustain us no matter what our future holds or the "set up" plans of others.
- Michelle Obama said it best, "When they go low, we go high!" In an interview with Time, she unpacked this famous phrase and stated,
"‘Going high’ doesn’t mean you don’t feel the hurt, or you’re not entitled to an emotion,” she explained. “It means that your response has to reflect the solution. It shouldn’t come from a place of anger or vengefulness. Barack and I had to figure that out. Anger may feel good at the moment, but it’s not going to move the ball forward.”
That's what Joseph did! He went high and kept His eyes lifted and behavior HIGH above the hills where his help comes from (Psalm 121:1).
I know the Word God has promised has been truly tested. To the point where you are probably questioning if you even heard Him correctly. Yes, you did! Continue to have focused energy on what you can control. Then, make room for God to take care of the rest.
